I'm 30, a mother of a 6 year old son and happily married to a supportive husband. Being a self-employed, self-taught artist is both challenging and rewarding, but it allows me to pursue my passion while still being able to spend quality time with my family. My son loves to watch me paint, and our furry companions, Shadow a 6 year old King Charles Cavalier and Dexter an 9 year old bicolor cat, and 5 month old ginger kitten, Henry, often keep me company in my home studio. Together, we make a happy and creative household.
As of Dec 2023 my childhood dog Roo, sadly passed at the ripe old age of 17 and 11 months. He was a huge inspiration for my art and I have painted him multiple times over the years. His lack of presence in my art studio is sorely felt and I miss him dearly but will forever treasure our 16 years together.
Ever since I was little, I have had a passion for art and animals. I would spend hours drawing and coloring, always fascinated by the intricate details of nature. As I grew older, my love for animals only deepened, and I spent a lot of time outdoors, surrounded by the natural beauty of the world.
My dream career has always been to become a pet portrait artist. The thought of capturing the essence and personality of each animal on paper fills me with excitement and purpose. I can't think of anything more fulfilling than creating artwork that will be treasured by pet owners for years to come.
Family has always been an important part of my life. My single mother instilled in me the values of hard work, dedication, and a love for life. She always encouraged me to follow my dreams and never give up on what I love most.
In all aspects of my life, my love for nature, animals, and family remains at the forefront. It is these values that shape who I am and guide me on my journey towards achieving my dream career.
As a pet portrait artist, I specialize in using watercolour and gouache to capture the unique personalities of furry friends. With the fluidity of watercolour and the vibrancy of gouache, I create portraits that are full of life and character. Each stroke of my brush is carefully considered, bringing out the texture of fur, the sparkle in eyes, and the essence of each animal I paint. From loyal dogs to playful cats, I use my passion for colour and technique to capture the very essence of each furry friend on paper. My love for animals shines through in each piece, making them not just portraits, but cherished keepsakes for pet owners everywhere.
Being an Artist is a way for me to express myself and create beauty. I find inspiration everywhere, but especially animals. There's a purity and an honesty in the way they move and interact with the world that inspires me to create my own kind of beauty. From the softness of a rabbit's fur to the elegance of a horse's stance, each animal has its own unique character that begs to be captured on paper. Through my art, I hope to convey the wonder and magic of these creatures, and inspire others to appreciate the beauty all around us.
